The Mirador neighborhood is named after the El Mirador Hotel with its icon tower which was built in 1928. During WWII, the hotel was purchased by the U.S. Government to be converted into a hospital. After the war, the Hotel was restored to its former glory.
After several decades, the hotel was once again converted into a hospital and is now the location of the Desert Regional Medical Center.
The highly desirable neighborhood is centrally located and contains around 160 homes that range from small bungalows to larger estates.
